Publisher and method

Who publishes this site and how its figures are read

An independent desk publishes one measurement, read from named sources and shown with the hour it was taken. This page states who runs the desk, what it measures, how it is paid, and how to reach the editor when a figure is wrong.

The publisher and the page’s limits

Held at the Door is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. The desk publishes one measurement and republishes it with the date and the hour it was read, so a reader can check the figure at its source and know when it was current.

The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. The site’s publisher does not read a reader’s personal data out of those logs. Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do.

What the measurement is and how it is taken

The site’s subject is one measurement, taken from named public sources and republished with the date and the hour it was read. The threshold, the rate and the ceiling are quoted from the rule as enacted. The rupee and dollar columns are recalculated at a live rate read from two independent sources.

What a bank adds to that rate is not published by any of those sources, so it is not in this table. The sources are named under every table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher. A figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated.

The editor and what they are responsible for

Aditi Ranganathan, Editor, cross-border money, is the person responsible for what the site states. Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the editor. Corrections are the reason the address exists. A figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated.

The editor is responsible for the published figures and for the wording on the pages. The editor does not advise a reader on what to do with the figures. The desk has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader’s browser.

Affiliate link to one broker and how the desk is paid

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is the only broker link on the site.

The broker’s own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves this site. The affiliate relationship does not change what the desk publishes. The measurement is taken the same way whether or not a reader opens an account.
